The general music classroom at Washington incorporates teaching strategies based on the work of both Zoltan Kodaly and Karl Orff .  We do lots of singing, ear training, solfeging, game playing, listening, and dancing.  In addition we make music using our extensive collection of rhythm instruments, xylophones, and drums.  We do one program per grade level each year.
